Main Cast: Omar Sy; François Cluzet

The word of mouth is so good on this film, that we have continued to screen it each year since 2012 – and the audiences have grown year-on-year too, so it’s back by popular demand for 2017! And no surprise at all: it is a fabulous funny comedy from France that plays brilliantly with stereotypes around race, unemployment and disability. It features outstanding performances from both Omar Sy and Francois Cluzet and it picked up 7 Cesar nominations at the French ceremony. Any comedy that grosses $445 million worldwide must be doing something right: if you haven’t seen it yet, then give yourself a treat and head along. Likewise if you’ve been contemplating seeing a show at the festival, but uncertain which one, then look no further than Intouchables. We have a feeling that a few will be back for a second and third look, especially as lead actress Audrey Fleurot will be in Kilkenny to present the weekend screenings.
