Recently remade in Hollywood, and also remade in the Netherlands, the Belgian Loft tells the story of five married men who have secret rendezvous with their mistresses in a shared penthouse – to which they each have their own key. Their secret arrangement seems foolproof – until one winter morning when they find a young woman’s dead body in their loft. None of the five men know who she is, where she came from or how she found her way into the penthouse. To save their own bacon, they decide to find out what happened and why. As the story evolves, they become increasingly suspicious of one another and it becomes quite clear that they have been anything but honest with one another.

The Bottom Line:
One loft, 5 keys and a murder. Come and find out why this thriller broke box office records in Belgium attracting over 1 million people to the cinema. So good, they re-made it twice (in Holland and the US).
A fascinating whodunit set in the secretive Men Only world, where life is cheap and friendship is fragile. Tight script, strong performances from a very clever premise; kept me guessing until the end...
