Heart of a Lion is the story of a Finnish white supremacist who finds his prejudices challenged when he falls in love with a woman who has a bi-racial child. It is a complex story, dark at times but balanced with humour and love. This is a really superb picture; it is also identified with the festival’s proudest achievement in that the actors who play the brothers here (Jasper Pääkkönen, Peter Franzen) have been cast in VIKINGS as a result of being seen in this film. Both have been to Kilkenny on multiple occasions, as has Laura Birn who plays the love interest.
