Main Cast: Aenne Schwarz, Andreas Döhler, Hans Löw
Featuring a powerhouse performance from Aenne Schwarz, All Good is a superbly focused work revolving around a single traumatic event. It is an extremely clever and provocative film from Eva Trobisch, which skilfully charts the psychological journey of a woman who refuses to see herself as a victim even as the strain of unreleased trauma gnaws away at her everyday life. There is an intelligence and honesty in this film which elevates it far above others in its genre; and while keeping silent can have consequences, the way in which All Good unfolds as a story, subtly and deftly sidesteps the clichés. In the central role of Janne, Trobisch has created a character to which we can fully relate and in Schwarz (who will be in Kilkenny to present) she has found an actress who delivers a subtle masterclass in film acting.
