Olivier does the best he can to fight injustice at work. But from one day to the next, when his wife Laura abandons the family home, he is left alone to juggle between the children’s needs, life’s daily challenges and his job. Faced with these new responsibilities, he struggles to find a balance. Because Laura’s not coming back. This is a superbly crafted and provocative film which skilfully approaches the nature of absence: how do you talk about desertion, without condemning the deserter? The pictures is held together by a fantastic acting ensemble with an astonishing central performance by French star, Romain Duris. He was nominated for a French César Award as Best Actor and it’s not hard to see why. Do yourself a favour and get along to this one…
