This is a stunning study of the euphoria of first love and the pain of heartbreak. It won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2013;so extraordinary are the central performances from Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux that the judges, led by Steven Spielberg, made the unprecedented move to award the two actresses, alongside the director Abdellatif Kechiche.
