Roman returns to the land near the border with Ukraine he has just inherited from his grandfather. Having decided to sell this vast but desolate property, he is warned by the local cop that his grandfather was a local crime lord and his men will not let go of the land – and their smuggling business – without a fight. Dogs is an absorbing crime thriller that marks the directorial debut from Bogdan Mirică, who also wrote the film. It features yet another charismatic performance from Romanian star, Vlad Ivanov, who won a Gopo Award (Romania’s National Film Prize) and who will be in Kilkenny to present the film.
