In Eastern Boys, ‘Daniel’, a French businessman makes a regular arrangement with ‘Marek’, a Ukranian prostitute; however the youngster’s involvement in a controlling street gang becomes an increasingly problematic factor in their developing relationship. Impressively the film doesn’t care what you think is right or wrong, it just unfolds through a series of extraordinarily intuitive performances, a fresh story of moral hazard and reward. The film was nominated for 3 French César awards in 2015 and there is a truly terrifying turn from the Russian actor Daniil Voroboyov, who will be in Kilkenny to present the film.
