Out Of Love is the remarkably fresh and confident work of debut of Dutch writer/director Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito. In many ways the casting of this film embodies all the principles that Subtitle is looking to explore: a Greek-Dutch actress (Naomi Velissariou) working with a Russian actor (Daniil Voroboyov) in the English language, made in Amsterdam. The film encapsulates the sweltering and devastating dynamics of love in the turbulent relationship between Varya and Nikolai, where genuine love and hope contend with destruction and despair. Nominated for 4 different European awards including a Golden Calf for Best Screenplay, we are delighted to show the film in Kilkenny and both writer/director Paloma Valdebinito and lead actor, Daniil Voroboyov will be here to present.
